About these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and LinguaTeach, based in Cyprus (“LinguaTeach,” “we,” “us” or “our”). They apply to the LinguaTeach mobile app for iOS and Android (the “App”) and the website linguateach.app (the “Website”), together the “Service”.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and is part of these terms.

App Store and Google Play

If you use the App on iOS, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies together with these terms. If you use the App on Android, the Google Play Terms of Service apply together with these terms. If these terms and those store terms conflict, the store terms apply to the store’s part: downloading, payment, billing and refunds.

Your account

You need an account to use the App. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and do not share your account with others. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.

Age

If you are 14 or older, you can use the App on your own. If you are under 14, you may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

A parent or guardian who gives that consent agrees to these terms on the child’s behalf and is responsible for the child’s use of the Service.

Free plan and subscriptions

You can use the App on a free plan. The free plan has usage limits, which are shown in the App, and they may change. A paid subscription raises those limits and unlocks more features, as described in the App when you subscribe.

Subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play and billed by that store to your store account. The price and the billing period are shown before you confirm the purchase.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their own rules. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through them.
Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription.
If a subscription price changes, the store tells you before the new price applies, as its rules require.

Your content

Your content is what you add to the Service: your words, lessons, imported lists, the photos you scan and the profile photo you set. It stays yours.

You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process and display your content only to provide the Service to you. This includes sending it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, such as third-party AI, translation and speech services. The license ends when your content is deleted.

Only add content you have the right to use. Your content is private to your account; other users do not see it.

AI and automated features

The Service uses third-party AI services and other automated services to recognize words in photos you scan, to generate words and examples, to translate words and to produce their pronunciation.

This output is generated automatically. It can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate, and we do not guarantee that it is correct. Check it before you rely on it. The Service is a learning aid, not professional language instruction or translation.

Acceptable use

When you use the Service, you agree not to:

Break the law or anyone’s rights, including by scanning or importing content you have no right to use, or personal data of other people without a right to do so.
Use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the Service, or collect data from it.
Get around usage limits, paid features or security measures, or interfere with the Service or its servers.
Copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, resell or distribute the App or any part of it, except where the law allows it.
Remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice in the Service.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and trademarks, belongs to LinguaTeach or its licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial learning, under these terms.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party services, such as the app stores, cloud hosting and the AI, translation and speech services described in our Privacy Policy, and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for websites or services we do not control.

Changes to the Service

We keep improving the Service, so features, content and limits may change, and some may be removed. We may also suspend or stop the Service. If we stop the Service for good, we will tell you in advance where we can.

Deleting your account and termination

You can delete your account at any time in the App: open Settings, tap your profile at the top, then tap Delete account. Deleting your account deletes the account and its data. Deleting the App from your device does not delete your account.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why first.

The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law continue to apply after your account is closed.

Disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and working well, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that AI and other automated output will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, LinguaTeach is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profits, data or opportunity, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and nothing in these terms affects the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the Service or the law changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the App before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the new terms, stop using the Service and delete your account.

Governing law and disputes

If you have a problem with the Service, contact us first: most issues can be solved that way.

These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus decide any dispute about them. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in its courts.

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right at once, we do not give it up.
